Terms and conditions

Version 1.2 · in force since October 12, 2026

These are the rules for using MSK. They are written from what the software really does, in the same voice as the rest of MSK: if anything here seems unfair or unclear, write to us.

1. Who provides this service

MSK is a platform for songwriters, artists, producers, managers and record labels. It runs at msk-music.com, in its apps and on MSK Stage, its public artist site.

The service is provided by Dramatic Records Group, S.A. de C.V., hereafter “MSK” or “we”. Contact email: soporte@msk-music.com.

In these terms, “you” or “the user” is anyone who creates an MSK account or signs in to one. MSK Stage fan accounts are a different thing: what a fan posts on Stage is governed by the rules in section 11.

Address: Fuente de Lilas 53, Col. Lomas de Tecamachalco, C.P. 52780, Huixquilucan, Estado de México.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating your account or signing in to MSK you accept these terms and the Privacy notice published at msk-music.com/privacidad, which is part of this agreement. If you were already signed in when they were published or changed, MSK shows them to you inside the app so you can accept them. MSK records which version of each document you accepted and when.

If you disagree with anything here, don't use MSK. If something seems unfair, write to us and we'll talk it through.

3. Your account

MSK has no passwords: you sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. That means access to your MSK account depends on your Google or Microsoft account; looking after it is your responsibility, and we can't recover it for you.

Your account is personal. Don't share it: collaborations, bands and team seats exist for working with other people.

MSK is for people aged 13 or over. If you are younger, don't create an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we delete it.

Your profile details —legal name, collecting society, IPI— are used in work sheets and in documents that get signed. You are responsible for keeping them accurate: MSK does not verify them.

4. What is free and what is paid

These cost nothing, now or later: creating the account, writing lyrics, organising them into sections and tags, adding chords, filling in the label copy, keeping your catalogue, your calendar and your bands, importing your repertoire and filling in your profile. There is no song limit.

Looking and signing are free too: opening a shared setlist, checking the dates of a release you were invited to, approving a split or signing a contract someone sent you.

When you create your account you get 10 tokens as a gift.

Tokens turn on tools for a specific song or action. One US dollar buys 4 tokens and the minimum purchase is 5 dollars. Tokens never expire, what you turn on stays on forever, and nothing is charged twice. Tokens are not money, earn no interest, are not refundable in cash and cannot be transferred between accounts.

The price of each tool is published at msk-music.com and inside the app, and it is what the server charges.

5. MSK Plus and team plans

MSK Plus costs 20 dollars a month. While it is active, everything is open and you spend no tokens, handwriting with a stylus included. On top of that, every month your balance goes back to 100 tokens: they don't stack, they top up. Spend ten, get ten; a higher balance is never reduced.

Team plans are charged per seat, monthly or yearly, at the prices shown before you pay. Read-only seats are free and unlimited. A new team receives 1000 tokens, once.

Tokens and plans are different things and neither replaces the other: tokens pay for actions on your own work, and a team plan pays for other people working with you.

If we change the price of an active subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and the new price will apply from your next renewal. Tokens you already bought keep their value.

6. Payments, renewals and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. MSK never sees or stores your card number: only a customer ID to recognise you on your next purchase. Purchases are made on the web; tokens and subscriptions are not sold inside the phone apps.

Access is immediate and entirely digital. No physical product is shipped.

Subscriptions renew automatically every period until you cancel. To cancel, write to us at soporte@msk-music.com and we will cancel it, taking effect at the end of the period already paid for.

If something was charged by mistake, write to us and we'll refund it. Apart from that, tokens already spent and periods already enjoyed are not refunded, because the service was provided. A token pack you haven't used at all is refunded if you ask within 30 calendar days of the purchase.

Prices are shown in US dollars. Any applicable taxes are added or included as the payment gateway shows at checkout.

None of this limits your statutory rights. If you are a consumer in Mexico, you keep those of the Federal Consumer Protection Law.

7. Your work is yours

Everything you write or upload to MSK remains yours: lyrics, chords, recordings, artwork, sheets and documents. MSK acquires no copyright, no neighbouring right, no publishing share and no percentage of your work because it is here.

For the service to work we need a technical permission: to store your content, copy it so you can see it on your other devices, make lightweight versions of your audio and thumbnails of your images, show it to the people you share it with, and publish it on MSK Stage when you decide to publish it. You give it to us as a non-exclusive, free, revocable licence limited to running MSK, which ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for what section 20 requires us to keep.

That licence does not let us use your work in advertising, assign it to third parties for other purposes or train artificial intelligence systems with it.

You warrant that you have the right to upload and publish what you upload and publish. If you upload someone else's work without permission, or credit someone who shouldn't be credited, that is your responsibility.

8. MSK Stage: what you decide to publish

MSK Stage is MSK's public site. Nothing of yours gets there on its own: a song, a post or a show appears on Stage only when someone with permission publishes it, and disappears when it is taken down.

A project's page —a band or an artist— is managed by its members, and any of them can publish, post on the wall and moderate. What is published on Stage is public: anyone can see it without an account, and search engines can index it.

Songwriters also get a songwriter page. It shows the name they appear under in the label copy's writer credits and gathers the published songs where they hold that credit. It never shows IPI, society, email or percentages. You can switch off your songwriter page or hide individual songs from MSK.

Taking something off Stage removes it from MSK Stage, but it cannot undo copies someone made while it was published.

9. Covers and the rights declaration

The first time you publish a song on Stage, MSK asks whether it is a cover. If the label copy says it is a cover, it is published as a cover, and a cover always carries the names of its original writers.

By publishing you declare, on your own responsibility, that you hold the rights or licences needed for the lyrics, the music and the recording. For a cover that usually includes a licence from the writers or their publisher. MSK keeps that declaration with the account that made it and the date.

MSK does not check licences in advance. If a publication stops complying, it is taken off Stage.

10. Copyright claims

If you believe a song published on Stage infringes your rights, you can file a claim. People with a verified IPI on MSK —writers, composers, publishers or heirs— claim a cover from MSK, with their registration document. Anyone else, or any other song, is claimed by writing to soporte@msk-music.com with your details, the song and the basis of your right.

The project that published the song gets the notice with the claimant's legal name, role, society and the registration number they provide, and has 7 calendar days to settle it with the claimant, for example by providing a licence. It does not see the claimant's document or IPI. If 7 days pass without agreement, the song's page shows that a claim is in progress.

Claim documents may be analysed with Google Cloud artificial intelligence when that feature is switched on. The model only extracts data from the document —title, writers, date and registration number— to compare it with the song; it cannot check that the document is authentic. If the comparison concludes with high confidence that they don't match, the claim is rejected and the claimant can appeal once to a person. While the feature is off, every claim is reviewed by a person.

No song is taken down over a claim without a decision by a person at MSK, unless the project itself takes it down. A song taken down this way cannot be published again until MSK lifts the takedown.

Claim files are deleted 12 months after the claim is resolved; the case record is kept. MSK does not decide who owns a work: that is for the parties, the collecting societies and the courts.

11. Fans, comments and blocks on MSK Stage

Anyone can browse MSK Stage without an account. To follow a project, like, comment or save repertoires you need a fan account, created by signing in with Google or Microsoft. A fan account is not an MSK account: for fans, what applies are the posting rules in this section.

Comments are published with the name and photo of the account used to sign in, and anyone can read them. Everyone can delete their own comments whenever they like. Repertoires are private: only whoever saves them can see them.

Nothing that section 18 forbids may be posted on Stage: harassing, threatening or insulting, pretending to be someone else, posting someone else's work without permission or illegal content. Each project moderates its page from MSK: it can delete comments and block a fan, who then can no longer comment there. MSK also removes comments that break these rules and may close the fan account of anyone who keeps doing it.

12. Sharing your songs

What you don't publish on Stage is seen only by those you share the song with, the members of the band you assign it to, whoever opens a link you create and, if the song's owner is on a label's roster, that label's staff, unless the owner hides it (section 17). The server rules keep everyone else out, not the screen.

You can create listening links and decide whether they allow downloading, commenting or seeing the lyrics, with an expiry date and a play cap, and revoke them whenever you like. But revoking a link does not undo a download: if someone already downloaded the file, neither MSK nor anyone else can get it back. Share unreleased material only with people you would trust with the file.

Whoever uploads a file to review can lock it, which removes its download button in MSK. Only the person who set that lock can release it, not even the song's owner, and MSK only by order of a competent authority. But the lock removes the button, not the access: anyone inside the song, and the label if it sees the song, can technically reach the file. The lock does reach listening links: while it is on, a link to that file does not allow downloading it and sends a copy for listening, not the original, unless the link is created by whoever uploaded the file or the person the lock was set in favour of. If there is no listening copy, only whoever uploaded the file or the person the lock was set in favour of can create the link, and that link plays the original; nobody else can create it, and links they had already created stop playing until the lock is released. Share unreleased masters only with people you would trust with the file.

There are no anonymous plays of unreleased material on MSK: whoever opens a listening link creates a minimal account and how much they listened is recorded. If you share a link, tell the person who receives it.

13. Signatures, approvals and what they are worth

Signatures and approvals inside MSK are an internal record: they keep who said yes, when, on which document, and that document's digital fingerprint. They serve as evidence between the parties.

They are not an advanced or certified electronic signature, and MSK is not a certification service provider. Their value as evidence is whatever a judge or a third party gives them, and it may not be enough for every legal purpose.

If the split changes after someone approved it, that approval is cancelled automatically: nobody stays agreed to something they didn't read.

MSK does not keep the PDF: it keeps the contract's text exactly as it was signed, the details it was filled in with, its digital fingerprint, who signed and when, so it can be shown and verified later. Keep your own copy too.

14. Storage and limits

MSK stores lyrics, chords, voice notes, artwork and the audio you upload to production review. It does not store stems or multitracks: those are saved as links to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, WeTransfer or other services, which MSK does not control.

Today's limits: 150 MB per audio file in review, and 5 versions per stage (demo, production, mix and master). When you upload one version too many, one you choose is deleted, together with its comments, permanently. MSK Plus includes 25 GB of storage, and team plans include more. Going over your plan's space triggers a warning, not a block. There is also a technical ceiling of 4 times your plan's space, and never less than 5 GB, beyond which the server stops accepting new uploads.

What you delete goes to the trash and is permanently and automatically deleted after 60 days.

MSK does what is reasonable to keep your content, but it is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose, especially masters.

15. What MSK is not

MSK is not a music distributor. It prepares the package that goes to a distributor, but it does not publish to Spotify, Apple Music or any other platform, and it does not manage royalties.

MSK is not a collecting society or a works registry. The work registration reference sheet it generates is a helper summary for filling in the forms of INDAUTOR, SACM, SGAE or whichever registry applies. It is not an official document, replaces no procedure and does not by itself prove authorship.

MSK does not give legal advice. Contract templates are templates: MSK generating one does not mean it fits your case, your country or your deal. Talk to a lawyer before signing.

MSK is not a backup service (section 14), and MSK Stage is not an open social network: only what each project decides to publish appears there.

16. Artist verification and imported catalogues

To be listed as the main artist of a release or to claim a catalogue by ISRC, a verification may be requested: you invite MSK to your Spotify for Artists team, because only whoever controls a profile can do that. That access is only an identity check: MSK extracts no data and no metrics through it, and as soon as it is confirmed we ask you to revoke the invitation.

You can import a released catalogue from Spotify. Whoever imports a catalogue first is recorded as having done so, with the role they declared, and that record is not a declaration of ownership. If two accounts claim the same catalogue, MSK resolves it case by case and may ask for the verification.

17. Labels, teams and relationships between users

When a label and an artist work inside MSK, MSK is not a party to their relationship and is not responsible for their agreements, payments or breaches.

The label itself adds you to its roster. If you are on one, its staff sees every song you own and can work on it: edit the song, its sheet and its status, but not delete it, change who is in it or touch what has been paid. That includes what your co-writers write in those songs and their credit details. And the other way round: if you write in a song owned by someone on a label's roster, that label sees what you write there and your credit details.

A song's owner can hide it at any time by switching off “Visible para mi sello” (visible to my label) on it: the label stops seeing it immediately, and hiding it costs nothing.

The label can take charge of the songs it decides to work on: it pays their tokens and the song unlocks completely, for its owner too. What was paid is not refunded, neither when the song is hidden nor when the artist leaves the roster, and the song stays unlocked for its owner.

Whoever runs a team is responsible for who they invite and for what that person sees with the permissions they are given.

18. What you can't do on MSK

• Upload or publish someone else's work without permission, or claim an authorship that isn't yours.

• Put someone in the credits without their consent.

• Harass, threaten or insult other people, in comments or anywhere else.

• Pass yourself off as another person, an artist, a project or a label.

• Try to access other people's songs, sheets or data, get around the server rules or test the system's security without written authorisation.

• Automate use of the service, extract its data in bulk or resell access.

• Use MSK as a general hard drive or to spread pirated material.

• Redeem the same coupon from several accounts or create accounts to get the welcome gift again.

• Upload or publish illegal content or content that promotes harm to people.

19. The platform is ours

MSK's software —the app, its servers, its code, its design, its texts and its databases— and the names and logos MSK, MSK Stage and MSK Studio belong to Dramatic Records Group, S.A. de C.V. and are protected by Mexico's Federal Copyright Law and the other applicable laws and treaties. Having an account gives you no rights over them.

You may not copy, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer MSK, try to obtain its source code, resell the service or build one derived from it. The law reserves decompilation and reverse engineering of a program to its owner (Federal Copyright Law, article 106, section IV), and by accepting these terms you also undertake not to do it and to keep confidential whatever about MSK is not public.

The exception is the MSK Studio plugin for audio workstations. When it is released, its code will be distributed as free software under the GNU AGPL version 3 licence, which lets you use, study, modify and redistribute it under that licence's terms. That licence covers only the plugin's code: the MSK service, its servers and its programming interface remain private, and it grants no rights over the names MSK or MSK Studio.

20. Ending: on your side and on ours

You can delete your account from your profile whenever you like. Before confirming you will see what is deleted and what is kept, with your account's numbers. The full explanation is at msk-music.com/eliminar-cuenta and can be read without signing in.

What is only yours is deleted. A song with several writers is not deleted: you are removed from it and ownership passes to the next person in charge. Writer credits and signed contracts are kept, because they are the proof for those who wrote or signed with you. The token balance is lost; the accounting record of the movements is kept.

If leaving would lock other people out —you run a team with occupied seats, or you are the only administrator of something shared—, MSK tells you and asks you to sort it out first.

We may suspend an account that breaks section 18, that puts the service or other people at risk, or when a competent authority requires it. Unless it is impossible or forbidden, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we suspend or close your account without you having broken anything, we refund the unused part of what you paid.

If MSK ever stops operating, we will give at least 90 days' notice, and during that time you will be able to export your content.

21. What happens when a plan ends

The plan's features close and actions are paid with tokens again. Nothing you already did is deleted or locked from reading: your catalogue, your songs, your setlists, your sheets and your documents are still there.

22. Changes to the service

MSK changes and improves: we may add, modify or withdraw features. If we withdraw a feature you paid tokens for and there is no equivalent, we refund those tokens. If a change significantly affects how you use MSK, we will say so inside the app.

23. Availability, warranties and third-party services

MSK is provided as is. We do what is reasonable to keep it working, but we don't guarantee there will be no interruptions, errors or data loss, or that it fits a purpose not described here.

Parts of MSK depend on third parties and their availability: Google (Firebase and Google Cloud) for accounts, data, files and servers; Stripe for payments; Resend for email; Spotify and YouTube for the catalogues and videos you link; and Google Maps for suggesting places. MSK does not control the information those services show and is not responsible for its accuracy.

MSK and MSK Stage use YouTube API Services to play videos and to sync lyrics to them. By using MSK and MSK Stage you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms

24. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, MSK's total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to what you paid MSK in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to it.

MSK is not liable for lost profits, lost opportunities or indirect damages; for agreements between users; for legal, tax or business decisions made with documents generated in MSK; for failures of third-party services; or for loss of content you kept no copy of.

Nothing in this section limits liability for wilful misconduct, fraud, gross negligence or harm to people's life or physical integrity, nor the rights the law grants consumers.

25. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is governed by the Privacy notice at msk-music.com/privacidad, which is part of these terms. In short: MSK keeps what it needs to work, measures screen use without reading what you write (and you can switch that off from the notice), sells no data and has no ads. You can ask to access, correct or cancel your data, or object to its use, by writing to soporte@msk-music.com.

26. Connected accounts: YouTube

If you are on a label's roster, you or the label's staff can connect your project's YouTube channel to your roster profile in MSK, always with the channel owner's authorisation on Google's screen. For this MSK uses the YouTube API Services: by connecting a channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms), and Google processes your data under its Privacy Policy (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

The connection is read-only: MSK reads the metrics of the channel and its recent videos so that the label's staff and the artist on that roster profile can see them, and it never publishes, edits or deletes anything on YouTube. What is read, who sees it and how long it is kept is set out in the Privacy notice, under “Connected accounts”.

Only connect a channel that is yours or that you manage with its owner's permission. You can disconnect it whenever you like, from MSK or from your Google account's permissions (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions); when you do, MSK stops reading it and deletes its saved metrics as the Privacy notice explains.

Instagram, Facebook and TikTok will be connected under these same rules when they become available; before each one opens, these terms and the Privacy notice will say what changes.

27. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is significant we will say so inside the app 30 days in advance, unless it is needed to meet an immediate legal obligation. The version in force and the date it applies from are shown above.

If you keep using MSK after a change takes effect, you are taken to accept it. If you don't accept it, you can cancel and delete your account, and we refund the unused part of what you paid.

28. Governing law and resolving a problem

First, let's talk: before any formal claim, write to us at soporte@msk-music.com. Most problems are solved that way.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. The courts of Ciudad de México have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to consumers' right to go to the courts of their own domicile where the law grants it. If you are a consumer in Mexico, you can also go to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO).

If any part of these terms is declared void, the rest remains in force.
